Many of the cars are new. If there's a rowdy person on my car, I move to another. Of course, the main factors are practicality (time) and cost. But, if you haven't taken Metro in a while you might want to give it a try.

People are not speaking out of ignorance so your "give it a try" is wasting your breath. Some people just don't agree with you. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they are stupid or ignorant. You have told us to "take metro!". We heard you the first time. What is saying it over and over again going to accomplish?

I'm a different poster. If you don't want to read a discussion on this issue, I suggest you maybe scroll away?

This discussion is NOT about metro despite your incessant attempts to steer it that way. Don’t you have a train to catch? I’m sure it will arrive in 16-18 minutes.

Well, it is now. Why exactly you think that you can control the direction that a conversation goes on an anonymous public message board is a head scratcher indeed.

No thanks. We'll keep taking our luxury car to our reserved parking spot. We don't travel on Thanksgiving weekend and have never had an issue driving in at spring break and Christmas.

Well talk to yourself. You are not changing anyone's mind, so no, you have not changed the conversation. You are yelling in a room and people are staring at you. But as you said, that is your right.

You aren't going to nag us to death to take metro. Talk is cheap. You have no power.

Then sit in traffic. Those are the options!

Exactly. We checked the traffic (almost an hour from Alexandria) before leaving the house and decided on metro. It took next to no time and was empty.

You guys are thick as oatmeal. Do you have any clue how many people who use DCA live absolutely nowhere near a metro stop??!

If you are dropping a college kid at DCA at thanksgiving, it’s worth considering dropping them off at the metro at rosslyn or the pentagon. Regardless of where you are driving in from.
