Science-based? From this guy?

A non-scientist is going to police scientists? That should be interesting.

In another article, it's speculated that he would also work on these issues:

*In other social media posts, Kennedy said he would seek to “get toxins out of our food,” remove corporate influence from government agencies and ban pharmaceutical advertising.

*NBC News reported last week Kennedy could head an initiative sources described as “Operation Warp Speed for childhood chronic disease,” speculating Kennedy may target obesity and diabetes in children.

I'm struck by two things in these examples. 1) removing "corporate influence," banning pharmaceutical advertising, and addressing obesity and diabetes in children (indirectly involves the food and beverage industry) would all go against corporate interests--how does that work in an administration that privileges big business and seeks to remove anything restricting corporate profits? 2) The sorts of things he is advocating are quite progressive and already occurring in places like Europe, which is way ahead of us on the quality of food and pharmaceuticals, but it sounds very progressive, doesn't it? Not a natural fit for MAGA. Michelle Obama was criticized by the right for her efforts on preventing childhood obesity. Americans don't like to be told what to do, including what to eat and drink. So why the shift now?

Its really weird that this is what Democrats are complaining about. If there is anything to be unified about, its this!

? Unified?? How

Trump cabinet possibilities (Politico)

I like the competency requirement stated by Davis but not the oath of allegiance to the president requirement part.

Mike Davis — a contender to be Trump’s attorney general — put it in a post on X:
“Dear Trump Job Seekers: Long time, no chat. Before asking me for help, I am going to ask you to provide me specific and concrete evidence of your łoyalty to Trump. If you cannot provide a lot of that, stop asking me. Political appointments require both competency and loyalty.”

Any insights on Trump 2 cabinet and likely agendas are welcome …

I hope he didn’t learn the wrong lesson from the 51 who knowingly participated in a massive lie to protect a political patron. THAT is NOT what we need from cabinet members and senior officials.

Some of these don’t sound too bad but that might be because we don’t know them. How long will they last?

The State Department
Brian Hook, former State Department policy planner and special envoy for Iran, has been tapped to lead the State Department transition team

The Pentagon
Robert Wilkie, former Veterans Affairs secretary in the first Trump administration, is leading the Defense Department’s transition team.

The intelligence community
Trump’s former director for national intelligence, John Ratcliffe, is involved in transition planning for national security policy.

This cabinet reminds me of "The Aprentice, White House' version.
