I’m the PP who suggested these. My maternal grandmother was Nell (her mother was Nellie, both my mom’s parents had sisters named Frances and my mom is Frances. I seriously considered Louisa for one of my daughters because I love old names on our family tree, and love Little Women |
One of my daughters is Iris and it’s been such a nice name - common enough that people generally know how to spell and pronounce it, but not common enough that other children at her school have the name. Highly recommend it ![]() |

Don’t forget to compare nicknames. For example, Elizabeth has a lot of nicknames, and you can assume your Elizabeth will become a Lizzy/Lizzie or Beth, etc, so think about if you like that. I don’t think Claudia has a nickname. |
