Do you sell wigs for a living? This is so weird. Wigs can create all sorts of problems for the existing hair and scalp underneath. It’s not worth it for many people. |
I used to never understand either, but as I’m getting more grey hairs, MAN they are wiry, untameable, and awful! And the longer my hair is, the more they stand out in a grizzled, crumpled, terrible way. I’m tempted to chop it off to at least a long bob or whatever, but can’t get around the fact that for decades the best thing for my crazy hair was an astronomically expensive and wonderful haircut I would travel for, and then just wash-n-wear. Bobs and lobs seem to require a lot more effort and maintenance |
Older women (like 60 - 80+) are wearing the hairstyle because of the condition of their hair. Same with glasses. Same with footwear choice. It's not about opting to look old or frumpy. It's not about not caring. |
What kind of short haircut flatters a woman with more masculine facial features? I'm assuming we mean actually short here (not bobs). |
she sounds like a brittle fake thing. |
If older ladies have thick healthy hair they can wear it long, color it like Easter eggs if they like. No need to cut your good hair. Grey or white hair in a stylish short cut can be stunning too. There are no rules. |
I actually like the back of my neck! It looks much better than the front lol. |
How? If you never had one why would you say that or believe it? |
Meh |
In general less of anything is less work. Would you say having a fewer children more work? Or a smaller house? Of course not ( not talking about kids with disabilities) So excluding you and a few others would you agree that shorter hair is less work than long hair? |
I don't understand it because it is so aging and extremely high maintenance. My mil has a bob and to me it's chic and still useful, and fairly low maintenance by comparison. |
I could post photos, but then people will either say those women look bad (not cool) or that they're not that masculine (also not cool). Perhaps you can Google? I do think many women say they wouldn't look good with short hair when I strongly disagree--I think they're just used to seeing terrible short haircuts (as are ubiquitous in the US), are afraid of drawing attention to themselves, and don't want the risk of a bad haircut, as longer hair is safer. Those are fair reasons to keep hair longer, but they don't mean the person couldn't also look great with the right short haircut. |
I wonder what kind of short haircut you all are imagining when you say it’s high maintenance?
My hair is a pixie like Mia Farrow wore in the 70s. It takes 1 minute to wash and 1 minute to dry and 1 minute to apply some bed head type product to give it some volume/lift and I usually leave it spiky. My very short hair takes less time to wash dry and style than it has at any other length over my lifetime. And I’m finally at that place in my life where I know I’m freaking gorgeous and amazing so I feel totally confident in it. |
I see a lot of elderly women in Florida with long hair. Believe me it is not a good look. It is stringy and straggly and thinning.
Shoulder length would be a huge improvement on many. |
I'm defining older women as 55+. Some necks look better than others. |
