He also attended elementary school for awhile in Fairfax.

Yes! I knew that when I read these as a kid. The Great Gilly Hopkins was set in “Tompkins Park” but it was totally Takoma Park.

I have to say that it's a bit surprising that so many famous entertainers came out of the DC metro area. You expect this from NYC, LA, or Chicago.

But DC? It's an arguably 2nd/cusp of 3rd tier major US city.

I'm guessing it bats above its weight class because this area has long had excellent public schools, some of the highest median incomes in the nation, and the best education population in the country.

another show from my teen years, Greek, has Calvin played by Paul James from North Potomac MD. He was also in I Love that for You and a bunch of Netflix movies
