Clearly Don Jr. has some "issues" and has internalized some of his father's views on women. Don Jr. was 12 when his father very publicly dumped his mother, and the other two were around 9 and 6. Don Jr. would have been affected most by the divorce because he was the oldest and would have better understood what was happening. He clearly is motivated by trying to get his father's attention and approval. And regarding Ivanka, you don't have to be a psychologist to see that it is not healthy to have two parents (Donald and Ivana) who are so obsessed with appearance and status. Ivanka was fairly young when she had her first plastic surgery on her face. At some point she also got fake boobs. Perhaps that's completely normal in the setting she grew up in, but it contradicts her public persona of being a businesswoman and mother who wants to be judged on her accomplishments in those areas rather than on her appearance. I hope Kai opts to skip the plastic surgery and daddy-pleasing route and becomes her own person. To be fair, the Biden kids have their own issues, but for different reasons. |

Don Jr looked up to his dad, so it makes sense that Don Jr is now modeling the same behavior to his kid.
I feel bad for Don Jr and Eric because they grew up knowing their dad liked Ivanka the most. They were second class citizens to Ivanka, which is why they both went so hard for their dad’s 2020 campaign and now they’re far right Republicans. Because even now, as adults, they want their dad’s approval. It’s no surprise that both Don and Eric are now with far right Republican wives/partners. They choose partners based on Donald’s approval. Ivanka wants her dads approval of course, but not as desperately as her brothers. That’s why she got away with marrying Jared Kushner, rather than a guy Donald chose for her. She married for love. She craves a normal family structure with her husband and kids, given her dysfunctional childhood. Ivanka knows her dad lusts for her, but she swallows down any emotion, rage, disgust she has and instead laughs it off. Because she has been programmed to be the perfect daughter, wife, sister, etc. So she keeps it inside. Very sad interpersonal relationships in the Trump family. |
