I was irritated at one of the moms that organized a team snack for baseball one season. My kid didn't need junk after the game. It was also one extra thing I had to do to get snacks for the team- I felt like you'd look like a jerk if you didn't sign up.

Please don't organize these!! Plenty of parents don't want this

Honest Juices

Pretzels, individually packaged

Baby Belle cheese rounds

Clementines/Bananas

Trail Mix in individual packaging

Z Bars

Raspberry/Fig Cookies individually packaged

Rainbow Goldfish

Not everything all at once, obviously, but some
combo of the above.

In no way are “plenty” of parents on your side of this argument. I mean, you are welcome to your opinion but unless you have done a poll across multiple sports and multiple age groups, don’t overstate please.

Count me in on not wanting to do snacks! Hockey is fantastic for that. The only time there might be a snack after is if it’s a child’s birthday.

Once other sports’ teams switched to no snacks with my older kids, I got annoyed by them for my youngest. I now take my time looking at the sign up sheet and sometimes get lucky and have all slots full. When I do have to sign up, I buy a Costco box of kids’ cliff bars and Veggie Straws and use my kids’ least favorite kind.

I have been doing both rec and travel sports for my kids for years and only had one mom organize this. People should pack their own snack for their kids. No need to throw more junk at them and add an extra chore the parents to do.

Agree. Hate the junk food snack culture we have created.

Yeah there are plenty of parents who don’t want this. Thankfully we’ve pretty much aged out of snacks but there is the random week someone brings them.

We stopped snacks due to an allergy. The mom was understandably adamant that the snacks could only be from her list...but most things were not typical grocery store brands. She also did not want any allergens to be eaten by spectators which complicated things. We ended up with no snacks unless you had left the field. Everyone survived.

Although I wish we would get away from snacks. They don’t need them and it’s another thing to organize and all the pre-packaged snacks create so much trash.

Cucumbers?

I would love to see this in the wild.

Not as bad as the lady who always brought seaweed snacks to ours.

I've only seen seaweed snacks at our sporting events once, and the kids went wild for them. I had no idea all of DD's friends were so into seaweed.

Because venues want you to pay for their junk from the snack bar if you're in club/travel?
