I went to college with a girl named January.

August is definitely rising in popularity as a name as well.

But was Aunt June born in March? Or was cousin June born in January? They may be named after the month they were conceived rather than the month that they were born. I've actually known a couple of people with month dates that were named that way. The parents had something significant happen in the month their children were conceived and they were naming the children in honor of the event that lead them to "celebrate" and conceive a child.

What about you?

I have met plenty of people named April, May and June though.

I had a friend whose dog was named January. In Lonesome Dove there is a character named July Johnson and a woman named Peach. Augustus or Augusta for August (Caesar). A child born on Christmas "Noelle (Noel for male) December would be a good name.

Ruth Rendell wrote a great short story about two sisters, "May and June.," and their sibling rivalry and an O. Henry finish.
