Yes i was running through windows down, life jackets in the car scenarios but I don’t see how it would be possible to save my kid in the back seat, and wouldn’t want to survive without her, so I think If this happened to me I’d just let myself drown when the car runs out of oxygen. |
I used to drive my kids back and forth from VA to MD several times a week and would keep their life jackets in the car because I am a little paranoid. I'm also a bridge engineer and have an unnatural fear of such an incident. We don't go as frequently anymore, but I'm gonna put them back in the car. |
The ship seems to lose power a few times as it steers directly into the support. Could it have been built by Boeing? |
Is this a joke? I would think the last thing on any decent person's mind this morning would be cruise ship routes? Prayers for the victims and for strength of the rescue crews. |

You truly think you’ll be able to get to those vests and your children while saving yourself!? |
It’s spring break, a natural thought. |
People who are currently on cruises and looking to get home will be dealing with this too. It's no crazier than thinking about traffic; it's possible to acknowledge the victims while also thinking about other effects. |
Correct. But don’t let that stop you!! |
If there are any in port right now, I would guess the cruise will be cancelled. If you mean cruises returning to Baltimore, they will just go to a different port. |
No you cannot simply open the doors. |
The idea that a large ship like that could lose power at such a critical time and ram into a bridge is terrifying. |
Maybe they wear the lifejackets every car trip. Might want to add crash helmets for unexpected tornados or meteors. |
From an engineering perspective, water and air are both fluids. Makes sense. |
No, a weird bubble-bound thought. |
