Another good win this weekend for the Spirit.

Who? Chloe? If so, she's 16 and turns 17 in May.

I feel bad for her. They put her in to play when another player was injured. Maybe they contractually have to play her a certain amount of time?

She lost the ball. Later, she got the ball and kicked it out of bounds. I imagine playing like this must be really hard on her, and she's so young.

Spirit with another win. The two drafted college player look fabulous. Ricketts zero minutes.

Ricketts and Fuller head to head this passed weekend....and...neither played 1 minute.

A lot of talk that there hasn't been a player on Rose Lavelle's level recently to replace her, here she is. Hope she gets a shot for the national team.

Do we have any idea why?

I think Ricketts at least was brought in prior to a coaching change. Wonder if that has anything to do with it. Even if they simply can't keep up, you have to wonder if the club has plans for developing them into a future role, especially considering the amount of money they have tied up in these players.

This team is fun to watch, although I miss ironwoman Sam Staab so much.

I think they have fallen behind quickly because it was a gamble on both parts (club and family). Most of the money invested in them was from sponsorship money. The NWSL does not have the infrastructure to develop players yet. Like all sports it's a hit or miss just like the draft...I'd guess maybe 2 out of every 5 of these youngsters end up being solid pros in the long run.

Can you elaborate on the comment avout lack of infrastructure for development? What is missing?

Agree it's a huge gamble by both sides. Just not understanding the risk vs reward equation from the team perspective here. I have to assume they saw something promising enough to sign these players and assume they would also be expecting to help develop them in some capacity

Big news for the Spirit. In addition to Rodman, Krueger, and Kingsbury, Hal Hershfelt got called into the June USWNT camp.
Croix Bethune was called in as a training camp player. Very well deserved.

And while I know she's not on the Spirit anymore, Sam Staab got her first invite too.

Please...she should not have been on the World Cup roster.

Can't believe it's taken this long for her to get a shot.

USL with a DC team to also compete at Audi Field. Interesting to see who in the long run wins the race to be the top dog.

Did anyone go last night? There were some really good young players out there. And Rodman is even more impressive in person.

Ricketts doesn't play at all. This can't be healthy. There was obviously no plan for her going pro.
