Which first lady is professionally most accomplished

Why are some people mentioning Jill Biden? Her doctorate was a joke (I read part of it, it had middle school grammar mistakes all over the place, it was pretty clear it passed because her husband was senator and no one was failing the senator's wife). As first lady, she's been invisible and barely felt anywhere outside the White House. Prior to 2020, no one really knew who she was, even when Biden was VP.

The irony is that Jill Biden is probably the perfect specimen of white female privilege.

Jackie O was definitely the most accomplished. Well bred, nothing to prove, married well twice, impeccable taste in clothing and interior design, attentive mother, supportive wife.

As first lady, which was her profession at the time, she was sublime. Was she a shrill and tedious self-promoter before and after? No.

It is not a profession. Getting a role because of you husband is not a profession.

Helping your spouse get to the White House sure is a bigger accomplishment than teaching political science in community college.

If that's the measure of success, then Barbara Bush should win some sort of prize for getting her spouse and her son to the White House.

She married young, moved around as expat with her husband, raised four kids, list fifth to leukemia and had Graves' disease, considering all that, she didn't have many opportunities and times were different too but she was pretty successful as a spouse, a mother and a First Lady. She had her causes she worked on.

Every time I think of Barbara , I think of this rather funny quote from Hurricane Katrina which I’m surprised didn’t get as much as fire as “You’re doin a heck of a job, Brownie”

There is no qualification for FLOTUS. Your comment is partisan and not grounded in anything meaningful. But I doubt many would disagree that Melania Trump would qualify as the most reluctant FLOTUS for sure. She never wanted the role or go anywhere near the role.

She was NOT a nice person. SIL met her and the President for an award. George very friendly and likable. Babs come out and sez “whereas the press. let’s get this over with”. Took pics and left. George continued to be gracious.

The question is: if HRC was not married to Bill, would she ever have been elected in NYS or appointed SOS? I don’t think she would have. There is nothing to indicate she would have. Her ambition extended to marriage to Bill and putting up with his lifelong cheating so she could leverage her marriage and humiliation for political power.

I remember reading somewhere that Bill never would have been elected President if not for Hillary's brains behind him. I believe it.

Melania didn't have lives like other first ladies, she is pretty much a mail order bride who did what she could to secure a good life for herself and her parents. Some people use IQ, some use EQ, some physical talents and some their looks so no point in comparing her to HC or MO.
