"Where all", "You all", "y'all"

AAARGH!!!!

Anyone in D.C. area trying to correct others' grammar.

Anonymous wrote:"I could care less". It's "I couldn't care less". I could care less means you actually could care LESS, therefore ruining the whole impact of your lack of caring.

Ooh, good one.

Messing up effect and affect.

"It is what it is."

"doing good."

How about when someone ends a sentence with

"if you will"

Ugh.

I think murder it totally acceptable for poor grammar. And danskos. And running skirts.

I think we have a serious adverb problem in this country. It seems that no one uses them correctly anymore.

What ever happened to the word well, as in "I am doing well" not good. Or, "he did well"?

And my current per peeve, saying "real" instead of "really." this may be because my trashy inlaws use it all the time and it makes my skin crawl.

I want to scream on the top of my lungs because she is clearly trying to make me feel bad that my infant cries. For 10 minutes. Once at night. I feel so lucky and then she goes and ruins it by being a b*tch.

Um, why is a 9 week old crying for 10 mins. That's a long time.

have you had a 9 week old? not too long - lucky not colic

People who start posts with "Um".

"I just threw up in my mouth"

As for the adverb problem, some snarky friend of mine once said "Superman does good. You do well."

Some things are shockingly simple and need no further explanation. Seems you are a simpleton who needs everything spelled out for you.

These ones bug me in no particular order:

The term "Big 3" to describe a handful of local private schools

The term "Little 3" to describe a handful of local preschools

Misuse of "good," when "well" is the correct adverb

Ending sentences with preposition -- particularly "at"

When people inappropriately respond "you too"

Misuse of the term "literally"

When I ask someone how they're doing and they respond "busy"

-When people write "loose" when they mean "lose"

-When people use an apostrophe to indicate plural instead of possession
