Freedom Convoy 2.0 - is no one else concerned?

Anonymous wrote:It is another Russian Op, just like the convoys in Canada and DC previously. I am sure a few idiots will show up, but ultimately as I posted in a different thread, it is Waco 2.0, being organized by some christo-facsist organization that likely gets its money and orders from Russia or Russian operatives.

Yes, it is always concerning, but what do you want anyone to do about it?

There is heavy unified propaganda being posted by nefarious groups. I saw at least three right wing posters on X try to pass off video of last year's D.C. truck convoy as contemporary video of angry white truckers travelling to Texas. Laura Loomer was one of them. She deleted her video after she was called out. She wants a position in the Trump White House. God forbid.

They do not find it concerning at all. Because they know the plan is to ensure those 300,000 - and the other 6-9 million in the last 3 years - will all be given US Citizenship this summer, so they can all vote for Joe Biden in various swing states. That’s why they aren’t concerned.

Prove that illegal immigrants have voted in the last few elections since 2016. Trump people tried to prove it 60+ times in different courts and lost every time. Your comment should be deleted for disinformation.

Not at all concerned. US faces real problems at the border and in Middle East.

I find it concerning and want the senate and the house to pass legislation now.
What are the republicans waiting for?

A reasonable proposal.

It has been made.”

Allowing 5,000 illegal immigrants into the country per day is not a "reasonable proposal" by any stretch of the imagination.
The original GOP-sponsored HR-2 was reasonable and necessary.

They aren't allowed in to free range. They need to be processed for their asylum claims. Until the Congress authorizes more money to build shelter to house these people, what choice is there?

No - the BP has been clear that they don't need more money. They need the proposed legislation to pass. They need asylum standards to be MUCH higher. We don't need to house these people - they need to stay in Mexico and wait their turn.

Biden unilaterally made the standards for asylum basically anyone who claims it. He can unilaterally return it to the previous standard. He doesn't need to wait on legislation.

This may turn into a border war with the drug cartels. Pretty sure Mexico and the US are not prepared to deal with the cartels who are profiting from the open border and human trafficking. These truck drivers don’t understand who they will really be dealing with.

+1. Plus, enforcement of existing laws which are now mostly ignored

In what way specifically? Which specific laws are ignored by whom?

Conservatives don’t want to fix the problem per Trump’s instructions. They’re making everything worse and avoiding solutions. Typical GOP BS!

I am more concerned about the number of people getting in legally de jure (on TPS or similar) but being a great strain on social systems.

The quicker we bankrupt social systems the quicker we rebuild into a society of healthy, strong families and people.

Sick, sad, unholy comment.

The people who know how to deal with it are being prevented from doing their jobs by the Governor of Texas.

That is a flat out lie.

"As Trump-era public health order Title 42 expired on May 11, 2023, the Biden administration implemented another restrictive policy pertaining to asylum-seekers. Similar to a Trump-era rule, this one disqualifies migrants from U.S. protection if they fail to seek refuge in a third country, like Mexico, before crossing the U.S. southern border."

The root cause is that it hasn’t been dealt with for decades by either party, which is why the truck drivers feel obligated/ emboldened to act. At best the feds made clumsy attempts to control the border and dealing with unvetted new arrivals. We are being upstaged by CANADA(!) 🇨🇦 in controlling national borders — and they have more remote areas and a smaller population.

OP is concerned.

Why do you assume OP is a democrat and why do you assume they speak for all democrats? This is a pretty low traffic thread and all things considered, I don't see a lot of people concerned about crackpots doing "god's" work.

Hold up. What is your source? Abbott? Fox. Homeland Security says there were 269k "encounters" at the border in December 2023. An encounter is not the same as releasing them into the country. 2023 was the worst year for migrants coming into the country but your lying makes me dismiss what you have to say. What else are you lying about? The Republicans in Congress need to pass the Immigration Bill so the border can be closed. https://homeland.house.gov/2023/10/26/factsheet-final-fy23-numbers-show-worst-year-at-americas-borders-ever/

They do this all the time. They don't know the difference, so they take the worse number and then hyperventilate over it. They don't care about facts.

With the NRA having funded and armed those same cartels. Who funded the NRA? The Russians.

I'm talking about specifically the fact that there are people on social media posting that they are driving to Texas to shoot "illegals." This is not normal behavior of any sane human being. It could all be a big nothingburger but it only takes one unhinged person to cause serious problems.

This has the potential of being a Jan 6/Waco or just Santa and his convoy buddies pooping in buckets. Time will tell.

What problems exactly?
For ordinary people like me, I mean.

OP here. Problems when rednecks start shooting migrants. All it takes is one trigger happy guy, hyped up on right with propaganda. When this happens, who steps in? Border control? TX National guard? US army?
