No it couldn’t “easily.” That is such a myth the left loves to promote. I have a job, education and a supportive family. I don’t take drugs or much alcohol. I don’t make stupid decisions that affect my health. |
They could have just eaten. |
You seem to think this is political. It’s not. It’s being human. Your circumstances might not be as impenetrable as you believe. If they are good for you. |
It’s for others to complain and judge. |
This is very narrowminded of you. Consider that I’m likely doing both? Instead of being reactive. |

Of course it’s political. Leftist policies employed by democrats in major cities over the last 30 years have ruined people’s lives. Wake up. You’re literally stepping over the evidence when you walk down the street. |
You know if I wanted to read Breitbart trash I'd go to their website. |
It’s not enabling to help someone directly. I work near a park that is a food drop off location for a local charity. It’s ok to give more. It’s not a dopamine hit, it’s seeing a direct need. I talk to people living rough in my block. I give when I can, sometimes it’s part of my lunch. Sometimes it’s acknowledging someone by saying hello and asking what they need. Often they say they’re ok. That they have things handled. Whether that’s true or not it’s our agreement in that moment. so many people look past the homeless. They’re still our neighbors. Figure out how to get comfortable with this. The circumstances aren’t always for us to understand and it’s not really our business. Support organizations that support folks in need. Call the shelter or emergency line if someone is in trouble (to hot, cold, in crisis). Be a decent human. |
I’m stepping over foxtrot cups and dodging men in suits that don’t adjust to other pedestrians on their path. |
43 years seems more accurate. |
How do you know they are voucher recipients? |
Maybe they have a secret handshake… or a special wink. Isn’t that in the secret voucher handbook |
| They should arrest anyone who gives cash to panhandlers or flower sellers. |
And if I wanted to bury my head in the sand like you do, I’d go to the beach. What’s your point? Nothing stated above is untrue. |
I actually agree with this. I always speak to them, look them in the eye and wish them a good day. But I’m not giving them one cent as panhandlers. |
