Travel Soccer?

For boys, the new hot travel league is the pre academy and academy. Many D1 ncsl teams in U13 left to go to this league.

If your DS really wants to play college soccer, which area travel team would you recommend?

just go to the NCSL website and see which clubs have d1 teams. Bethesda Soccer, Stoddert and Olney usually seem to be in the mix. I am pretty sure tryouts are done for the fall.

I'm still confused. What is this hot new league called pre academy and academy? Is this an alternative to NCSL?

Am I the only loon constantly clicking on the Stoddert website for their promised postings of the travel team tryout results at 5 pm today?! The suspense is killing me. But I also think I'm turning into one of those crazy soccer mom/stage parents. Thank goodness dc could not care less . . .

Me too! And yes my daughter hasn't asked once but I'm worried she may move down or out. It would be sad for us all as we have all loved it.

They are hard to find. Go the main page and wait for the slide show to hit tryout results. Click on the plus below it.

DS did not make the team. Several boys from his rec team did make it. We're all stunned, as DS has been the clear star of the rec team for 4 years. Tryouts were a joke. No time trials. No dribbling drills. Just 6 hours of playing games. Yes, we're bitter. But more befuddled than anything.

sorry to hear. is this U9 Arl Soccer? i heard there're 200+ boys at the tryouts and the interests exploded in the past couple of years. friend's daughter didn't make it either. hope your boy get the nod next year (assuming there's no 'appeal' to the decision).

I have known one parent who "appealed" the decision. I felt sorry for the coach and administration. The parent who did this is otherwise a decent fella. Travel soccer just seems to bring out the worst in him. By the way, the appeal was denied.
