What movie would you like to live in?

I just watched that again the other night, first time in decades. I’d almost forgotten how beautiful Julian Sands was, no wonder I loved him as a teen. He died hiking in the mountains in California last winter.

Would you live in the Italy scenes or the England scenes, or both?

DP. What amazes me about that movie (one of my favorites) is how the gorgeous Daniel Day-Lewis played a complete dweeb. I still can't believe it's him.

“Gorgeous” is pushing it a little. But yes, they downplayed his looks and he was excellent in the role

I disagree. Especially in The Last of the Mohicans. He is a beautiful man.

He is/was. But the antithesis of an action star. He hated it.

Pride and Prejudice, 1996. I'd like to be one of the four and twenty families the Bennets dine with and make fun of them behind their backs.

Nancy Meyers’ movies: isn’t this the basis of the “Coastal Grandma” aesthetic? Well, I love it.

Nicole Kidman’s and Reese W’s houses in Big Little Lies, but not the characters’ lives.

The apartment Mimi Rogers lived in in Someone to Watch Over Me.

The Italian locales in The Talented Mr. Ripley.

I always wanted to live in the movie Practical Magic and end up with Aidan Quinn. Loved that aesthetic.
