40% plus don't submit scores anymore. Not all of them are URMs.

I know of at least one the last cycle. Others have reported examples on other threads. TO is real. But people really want to believe it isn't. I'm not sure why.

Their kid worked like a dog for that 1550, it’s supposed to be the golden ticket, how could it be that it just doesn’t matter?

By worked like a dog you mean took it four times and superscored to a 1550.

Now nobody knows what the hell is going on even though some people claim they do.

What used to be a gate change at Dulles now looks like the last flight out of Afghanistan. The most you can do is pray that it’s not your kid clinging to the landing gear as it’s being retracted. BRING BACK REQUIRED TESTING!

+100

Even at schools that have been test optional for years? Go start your own college and use whatever criteria you want but otherwise you’re just serving the needs of the college board.

SAT 47% submitted
ACT 46% submitted

Journalist was trying to say, look, together thanks 93%.. even with some overlap that's 90%.

But I wouldn't be surprised if most of those ACTs submitted their SATs. And the number submitted any score was about 65%. But I wish I knew for sure.

I don’t know any kids that submitted both and had a senior going through the process last year. School heavily emphasized only submit the best score. Now,if a kid got perfect score on both, perhaps they submit both, but that’s a very small group of kids

I think this is regional. in my area, kids take both and kids who do 99% on one usually are tip top on the other too. For kids at 1300-1500, okay, but kids who are scoring 1540 and submitting to duke - they're also submitting the 35/36

my kid applied and was accepted to Georgetown last year - submitting a 1500 there is not a big deal bcs they haven't had the real jump in scores the TO schools have had.

What does pointy mean? Examples?

New around here. With a sophomore

NP but it's when the kid has a specific focus and all extra curriulars, research, internships, published writings and as many classes as possible relate to it. The more unique the interest, the better.

Thats called weird.

Anonymous wrote:Are all of the top 20 still test optional? Not one is requiring test scores for this c/o 2024 cycle?

Surprising.

No, MIT requires scores.

That's...it? No scores required for UVA, Michigan, Berkeley, and UNC either?

Florida, Georgia, Ga Tech, Georgetown and Purdue all require scores.

PP referenced T20.

No one gives a rat's a** about....Purdue.

Does the CDS differentiate between the TO schools that rely on self reporting of scores vs those that rely on self reporting but require verification upon enrollment vs those that allow self reporting but require the scores are sent to them during the decision making period?

Plenty of computer science majors care about Purdue.

Seems like you live in a dumber region, there is no point in submitting both.
