Lol! I worked for a place like this and it’s a joke. You are a billable body. The family part of a joke. Crock of lies. When they can’t bill you, you are no longer family.

Another sign is the two faced employee - bubbly and perky when management is present or in staff meeting but is otherwise ornery, non-responsive and an information hoarder when not dealing with management. This type of person has set things up so that if you complain about them, you look crazy to management because management never sees that side of them.
