The Last Tourist

How can they brag about their vacations in social media if you make them look socially irresponsible for taking them??

😂

I think younger generations are going to look at current day tourism (as it is for the most part) and the Insta pics as tacky/selfish/ridiculous. Esp. when it’s all burning down due to climate change.

Their motto: do as I say, not as I do. Eliminate the Paris agreements until they all start setting examples themselves.

We are not sheep for these climate change hypocrites.

So you don't want to address the problem of climate change because of the hypocrisy of others? That seems rather childish. We can only control what we do, not what others do. Spite and "owning the libs" should not be the basis for how you make decisions in your life.

PS. Your party leader was flying private jets with his name emblazoned on the side way before most everyone else.

Yes, but he was the President!

John Kerry is a “Climate Czar”

Before he was President. With his name stamped on it. She’s not talking about Airforce One…

I am watching now. It is really thought-provoking (if you are not knee jerk defensive).

It is sort of like we think the people in poor countries are there to entertain us or wait on us.

We are like some fat king, stuffing himself while we watch the court jester. Not a good look!

Most of the people who post here have children (duh), and I am consistently amazed by the lack of concern expressed about the welfare of the planet, especially with regard to levels of consumption. How will your grandchildren think of you 50 years hence?

We all should be traveling a lot more. It is good for the planet. Brings us together. Climate change can be dealt with and we can travel.

And on Maui. Very few people including Hawaii could live there without tourism. That is why many are begging the tourists to come back quickly.

I’ve lived in five affluent tourist magnets and have a son living in a sixth, and I think tourists are adorable. The situation is, obviously, different if you’re in Cambodia or Vietnam, but people who live in places like Paris or Boston and get mad about tourists are just cranky people.

Cruise ships are coming back at the behest of the local government.

Why?

They need the money.
