Please enlighten us as to what is a “real” job? |
No you idiot. This is the OP. That $15 an hour includes the base pay plus the tips. Just know, the first time I deliver to you and there is no tip, I log it and share it with others. Also if the restaurant makes me wait too long, I never pick up from there and others know it too. |
A W2 job |
Tell me you don’t know any poor people without telling me you don’t know any poor people. There’s an industry devoted to providing cars to people to drive rideshares. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2017/01/08/5-ways-get-car-you-need-drive-uber-lyft/96214312/ |
So you better never read something a free lance reporter writes. Also did you know many doctors are contract employees who get a 1099? I hope you have the guts to say that to their face. |
| I have an app that works with all of the delivery apps. It takes info from non tippers, people who say they never got their order even with photographic proof and I can see at a glance if I want the order or not. |
Those doctors aren’t whining for “tips.” |
It seems like a ridiculous frittering away of money to allow use of WIC and EBT for marked up optional services like food delivery. |
Some people are disabled and/or do not own a car. |
| Why should you get a tip? Instacart pays $20/h. You earn an hourly wage. |
Dumb. The mason who fixes my steps also works hard and provides a service, should I tip them too? How about the mechanic that fixes my car? Tip them? Why not tip the doctor who provides a service while you're at it? Why does a bartender get $1 per beer poured while you tip some Uber driver 20%? Just go ahead and admit US tipping culture is dumb and makes zero sense. I'm so done with tipping. People need to do their jobs, and if they don't like the salaries then they can quit. That way the customer is no longer some stupid ATM machine expected to pay salaries for staff that the owners should really be doing. |
| Why is there an epidemic of people who cannot get their own groceries or pick up their own food? Were you all starving before covid? How did you manage to survive pre-delivery services at these places? |
They do not pay $20 an hour! |
These delivery services have been around for a long time. |
I just started using Walmart. Back then, I had my health. I lost that and don’t leave home much. Not everyone is as blessed as you. |
