What do you think of people who can afford to renovate and don't?

We redid the kitchen in our last house to make it functional for us. The process sucked, as all renos do, but it was totally worth it and the end result made me really happy and it was well used.

The kitchen in our current house is totally dated looks-wise, but the layout is perfectly functional. Can't justify updating at all. Feels really wasteful.

Nobody cares if your kitchen or bathroom was updated.

It's simply a matter of do you live in an original build versus a new build. Unless you're in DC limits I suppose. The rest is splitting hairs, and in my opinion, often a silly waste of money Unless you have a lot laying around to burn.
