But if that’s true then why does it make sense for the waiter get a much bigger tip for the steak order?

+1. Not at all. I have some disposable income but will never buy a luxury car. I see BMW’s and Mercedes in the hood all the time when I visit my clients.

It takes less time to cook and eat at home than what it does to go out
