Have you made any money-saving changes recently?

It literally keeps me up at night thinking about everyone struggling. Not just our family. I wish I had a lot of money to help anyone needing.

How old are you? You don’t need it for yourself. I plan to take at 70 to maximize my benefit and it is part of my retirement stream of income.

Well then YOU DO YOU.
We saved enough retirement money to support us. I don't need ss. I'm 62 and my cut is from my husband's ss. I didn't work outside the house. I'm one of those doormat Stepford wives. Family needs. We supply. I'm not a heartless selfish person like some on here.
Does that answer your question ? Stop being rude sista. It's not nice.

I did the following:

- Just switched to Verizon Fios internet only which will save $70 per month. Going to bring my cell phone over.
- Called NYT to end my subscription to digital paper and games and they cut it from $23 to $4 per month for next year so $228 saved.
- Called the Economist to end subscription and they cut it from about $240 to $120 for the next year.
- Cancelled Washington Post as we don't have time to read it right now.
- Reviewed my credit cards and developed a 2 year strategy. Applied for 3 new cards to get sign up bonuses/points and extra points on particular classes of expenditure. Still have one new card to get. Calculated savings will be $3,075 in 2 years. BUT need to strictly stick to plan about when to cancel cards since they have annual fees.
- Keeping an eye on craigslist and facebook marketplace for furniture deals. Have scored great deals.
- Placed a bulk order from Total Wine for the wine we typically drink. Each bottle is about $4 cheaper that at our local liquor store so figure we will save about $300 over a year.

I discovered that 4 week treasury bills are paying pretty juicy rates and bought a bunch. 2.9% times whatever cash you got in the bank is going to pay off a lot better than letting it set in your checking account. T-bills are considered the safest investment around because the federal government backs it.

Yeah it's not paying for 8% inflation but it's better than the 2% I've been riding the past few months.

Because they're the monopoly provider of broadband internet in most of the US. Feel lucky if you have competition for broadband internet, as I do. I haven't paid more than $50 per month for years.

Ally money markets aren't paying 4%. They're paying a paltry 2.25%.

You can get NYT for $4 per month? Not bad, might get that myself.

For the person ordering bulk from Total Wine, I feel badly for the (Local small business?) wine store that is losing your business.

Don't feel badly for them. I'm in Montgomery County where the government has a liquor monopoly and the closest stores are county-owned.

Only tips nail salons and hair stylists. It’s not my job to supplement your income. I live in California and minimum was here is $15, and restaurants up to $20. Not my job to tip you more than I make myself when my job is more than putting a pizza in a box.

Ugh. Get off your lazy butt and get your own groceries. You're gross.

Cable is for Boomers and sports nuts (though many of the sports nuts could get what they want much cheaper if they only did their research).

I don't think you understand the business model. If you can't afford to tip, the service isn't really meant for you.

I finally got out of gym membership contract
My car tire had a nail in it and had to be repaired, so I joined Costco to get it repaired for free (that was $60 that almost paid for itself)
Unfortunately I also spent a lot money shipping at Costco

Yes, well
She stopped going to restaurants

Believe it or not, people tip what they can afford and stay away from services that demand a tip
