It was for alleged violations of the “Presidential Records Act.” Election disputes are common throughout our history, but a former president (let alone one who can run for another term) has NEVER been charged in our history. I wonder how many sitting democratic senators have ever violated federal records retention laws?

I must admit that I don’t understand what is dangerous about finding evidence of a crime, asking a judge for a warrant, and then executing the warrant. That happens multiple times a day, every day, in this country.

There’s actually a law against politically targeting people for IRS audits. That’s another one he may be suspected of breaking.
