FCPS Summer School program for ES and MS-are they really sticking the kids on laptops to do ST math?

I don't want access to their systems....I want the outline for the curriculum that will be covered. I can get information from the courthouse without having a login to the internal courthouse database.

All of that is accessible on the VDOE website. There is no FCPS curriculum, only a list of VDOE standard and links to Google Slides.

Our school said there was a specific fcps summer schol curriculum, but refused to share it.

Yea, I teach SOAR - it’s still a Google Doc with hyperlinks. Maybe some Google Slides for morning meeting.

yikes. That sounds awful. Is this what SOAR is like? Bare room, mixed grade level, random review? No specific targeted problem areas?

Oh dear, what would happen if a morning meeting missed a crucial third part. No one could possibly learn that day!

Parents are sick of garbage like the positivity project sucking up valuable instructional time. The last thing you need to start off a day in elementary school is kids staring at a google slide. Really, have a little professional pride

Nope, not going to stop using slides. That’s where the directions, lessons, problems/answers are posted. No teacher is going to rewrite all that for each subject/block/day. It’s called being efficient. That will not change any time soon.
