PharmD has a far higher bar of entrance and completion. Jill Biden has an EdD from UDel, the program's entrance standards include a mere 2.75 GPA from undergrad or a master's degree and no GRE required. Coursework can be completed entirely online:

Jill's Ed.D. "dissertation" is also online and reads like something an 8th grader copy and pasted from wikipedia. Seriously.

Who cares? Seriously, she still earned her degree and the title of Dr.

You people have entirely too much time on your hands.

Your question sounds so immature.

Perhaps you should read the Velveteen Rabbit?

What? We lawyers aren't doctors? Shame.

+ 100

The check-the-box inflation in the education field is real, people. There is no bar lower than getting a “doctorate” in education.

For everyone coming in afterwards with their anecdote of their PhD in education from Harvard – there’ are 999 from schools with medium too bad course content and very low dissertation standards. If you don’t believe me – just read them!

Depends on the setting. I call our vet 'Dr. Larla' but I would be horrified if she jumped into a conversation with human medical advice and represented herself as just Dr. Larla.

I have a PhD in a medical field and call myself Dr. so-and-so at work, but would never offer medical advice, especially paired with 'Dr.'. I have no issue with a PharmD representing themselves as Dr. if they are practicing within the scope of their work, but they shouldn't be overstepping and need to make sure the patient understands their role relative to the care team.
