Lisa is not exactly traditional so it would not surprise me if they always had a form of open marriage. But every open relationship has rules and he may have broken them. Or they just aren’t getting along for other reasons. Or she’s going through menopause and is now extremely irritated by his whole schtick or is sick of doing the emotional labor or whatever.

Same here! I've always admired her grace and how she's aging. I've admired his warmth - the guy is smoking hot but it's the twinkle in his eyes that gives me delicious shivers. Reminds me of Gene Kelly's twinkle.
