PP is rude but you do not have to pay a nanny for time when she is not working even on business travel. I mean sure you can work that out with your nanny if you wish but legally you do not need to pay her for that time nor a per diem. There are plenty of people who travel on business and don’t get paid for sleeping or get a per diem. |
Are those people hourly? No. Salaried people aren’t paid to sleep away from home. Hourly domestic workers are. You can break it down to minimum wage for the full travel day (24 hours) but the nanny must be paid. Call the labor board. |
This is not accurate. I am not taking a stance on morally should OP pay her nanny but legally if the nanny has no expectation of working and a private room to sleep, she does not need to get paid for that time. Of course OP should discuss all of this up front, and pay overtime for any hours over 40 for the week. |
