question - what do you wear with ballet flats in the winter? knee highs?

I know this is a weird question but I can't stand wearing knee highs - they cut off the circulation but socks look weird with ballet flats. Anyone else have this problem or have suggestions? thanks

Yes, I too have this problem. I love the look of ballet flats, but I only wear them in spring and fall. The winters around here are just to cold for these shoes. You could try a sheer sock, but I actually think that ballet flats should be worn without hosiery.

Agree with out hose. I like in the winter if black tights and black ballet flats. Otherwise, I wear in the spring and fall, as well.

I have some ballet flats I wear in the winter. No hose. Long pants. Looks fine, feels fine.

OP, I've tried and tried to figure out some way to wear ballet flats in the winter and you really can't do it except for black tights and black flats. Otherwise, it looks bad. I do wear black trouser socks with mine that look like tights because they don't bother me.

If your pants are long enough, no hose is fine - no one will see bare skin until you sit down.

good point except my feet get cold...if you don't wear ballet flats what do you wear in the winter? I don't need/want heels and need something that is comfortable yet stylish and appropriate for a business casual environment. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

or commute in one shoe (e.g. uggs), and change into the ballet flats when you get to the office.

I walk to far for heels to be practical. I usually wear a low-heeled ankle boot in the winter - looks professional with pants and keeps my tootsies warm. If I have a more formal meeting, I'll tote my heels with me.

What about a loafer? There are some stylish ones out there. . .and you can wear socks with them.

I second the boots. Love wearing boots, flat, chunky heeled, thin heeled, love them all!
