Slow processing speed, poor reading comprehension

Where would you turn to improve reading comprehension? He reads quickly, sounds out words, but misses word endings, skips prepositions, skips lines / repeats lines, does not notice that what he's reading aloud makes little sense. Nor can he explain what he just read.
What kinds of things would you do to improve reading comprehension? |

| What’s the diagnosis. If you don’t have one start there. If you have one, review the report. Age might make a difference in suggestions too. |

| ADHD? I'm assuming you've already had some kind of eval done if you know that processing speed is slow. Self-monitoring and other meta-cognitive strategies will be key. See an SLP. |
