I think it's probably just a supply issue - clinics/doctor's offices are getting what they can. My pediatrician's office who always orders thimerasol-free flu shots (the regular kind) only had h1n1 vaccines with thimerosal in them. I could be totally wrong, but my guess is that what's out there now has thimerosal in it and that the thimerasol-free version won't come out until later.
I'm an alternative schedule vaxer and try to avoid controversial ingredients in vaccines, but I decided to give my 19 month old the h1n1 with thimerosal in it because I reasoned that none of the other vaccines he is getting will have thimerosal in them, and the risk of getting h1n1 right now is so high I'd rather him be protected than wait for the ideal version of the vaccine which may or may not arrive (at all) before DS comes down with h1n1.
