Egg Freezing

Anonymous
I'm speaking to the doctor later today but she emailed to say that she suggest we freeze my eggs before doing anymore cycles. All of our embryos stop growing on dat 3 maybe day 4. Perfect 8 cell embryos, no fragmentation and they just stop. She is thinking something is wrong with the sperm but sperm analysis and DNA frag show nothing wrong.

Why does she want to freeze the eggs?

Age:39
AMH: 0.90
FSH 7
AFC 23 (today)

My best guess would be that she thinks there is something undiagnosed with the sperm and wants to leave open the option of discussing a sperm donor with you.

That said, have you considered doing 3 day transfers instead? Some embryos just don't like being in the lab until day 5 or 6. A lot of people do day 3. That's where I'd ask to go next.

Wants husband to load up on antioxidants, fresh juices, Co-Q10 and thermalogix vitamins for the next 60 days but in the meanwhile wants to do an IUI. Huh?

May be a good point about CoQ10 (a water and fat-soluble form absorbs better) as research suggests it may improve fertility in men. Be cautious with increased juices as they are still a source of additional sugar.

I would absolutely see if you can transfer at 2pn or at the very least at day 3. Really. You can even freeze at 2pn (but most clinics won't freeze at day 3).

What 2 pn? Two cells?

Your physician is the best person to speak with about this. Obviously there is a reason they are suggesting that. People can post all sorts of recommendations on here, but they don’t know your situation. What works for others may not work for you. Your physician’s goal is to get your pregnant! Just a reminder to take the responses here with a grain of salt. Best of luck to you! I hope you have success.

YOU pregnant. Also, if they can’t pinpoint the reason this is happening, they are exploring avenues to figure it out so you do have success. Ask detailed questions as to why they are doing these things....you deserve answers.
