Looking to "order in" or "eat out" for T-giving this year. Any recommendations?

With a newborn in the household, we are looking to host family, but order in this year.
We are in Herndon, VA - any good suggestions for ordering in or eating out on Thanksgiving?
Thanks!

We've gotten our turkey and fixings from Wegman's for the past 2 years, and we've had no complaints. Everything comes pre-cooked, you just heat and serve.

Not sure how far you're willing to drive, but one T-day I ate at Clyde's in Chevy Chase. They have a traditional turkey dinner (which was delicious), along with a complete menu of other entrees (for folks who just don't care for turkey). The price was reasonable, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

I've heard that WHole FOods has a good package deal for "order in". My MIL ordered from Giant last year. The turkey was fine, but the sides were gross.

I suggest going to Whole Foods for the major things and then trying to find some time to do some of the minor side items. I've found that not all their sides are to my liking, but the turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, mac and cheese (maybe), masshed potatoes, rolls, desserts are great but sometimes I don't want the green veggies the way they cook them or the rice.

We purchase our ham and turkey from honeybaked ham. The best thing is you can order online and have it delivered for a price of course. Some of their sides are good but being from the south, I always take the time to make my grandmother's dressing.

I agree with whole foods for the big items. I would try a specialty store for really good sides--maybe Balduccis...

I posted a response to another thread about this yesterday. I've ordered for several years from Whole Foods. They do complete dinners, but they're sides are terrible (flavorless and pricey - I've ordered their regular and apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato souffle, and roasted veggies), so I think this year I'm going to try something different. Honeybaked Ham got a few votes on the other thread, so I may try that place for sides. But Whole Foods does a great oven-ready turkey, which I will definitely order again this year. They give you the option of whole turkey or turkey breast if you're doing a smaller gathering. They prep everything (herbs, etc.) and give you the cooking tin, but they don't cook the turkey, so all you do is pop it in the oven per WF's instructions.

"they're" = their. Oops

We were in your boat last year with a three week old and ordered from Harris Teeter. It was quick and easy and the sides were surprisingly good! My only complaint is that the sides were smaller than we expected so we had a disproportionate amount of turkey relative to the sides. We are talking about doing it again this year, even though we don't really have a good excuse except that we are feeling lazy. We will probably make/order some extra sides though.

OP here, thanks for all the suggestions. will also look for the other thread mentioned...

We've gotten TG sides from Balducci's and Dean and DeLuca. Can't speak to the turkey as mom made that, but the sides are yummy!

Balducci's was good but, I ordered the "chef prepared" turkey as opposed to the regular order. I expected it to be fully cooked so that I could just heat it. It was not.
