| When is the best time to lay it? And what is the best type of grass? And any recommendations on where to buy it? |
|
Whenever you have time to devote to watering it thoroughly 1 to 2 times per day for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Best type of grass depends on your yard conditions (sunny, damp, shady, etc) This is a reputable place to order from http://www.plantsod.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwq57cBRBYEiwAdpx0vTMhBkCMUdeLSa30L9x8BtljMKS7IeQxD1y3fsG9sy87Bsk3ZCwp2BoCuv8QAvD_BwE |
| Fall when it is cool. |
|
you plant grass seed, you lay sod.
where are you located. just do a google for sod farm and you'll find it. expect to pay a couple buck per roll, which will cover 1 square yard 60-70 rolls on a pallet. expect to pay 10 bucks on deposit for the pallet. |
+1 Most grass seeds do best with cooler temps. Also, watch the weather. Storms and heavy rains will wash away the seeds. |
| bump. anyone have someone good who they can recommend to do this? |
Where do you live? We live in DC and hired District Green to do this for us. But they don't just work in the city. It took a full day and was not cheap, but the sod is doing well. http://districtscape.com/ |
| Has anyone had sod laid down and it came with plastic mesh to hold it together? I was very disappointed to find plastic in our lawn and am considering taking it out and replacing it at some point with new sod that does not have plastic in it? Is this the right way to go or do some companies lay their sod down with plastic? Thank you. |
