MusiKids recs?

Anonymous
Can someone tell me about MusiKids for a toddler? They don't do trial classes, and I'm uncomfortable plopping down that much money without more information. What is a class like? Is it focused on music, or is there a lot of movement? Are the centers nice? Clean? Any teacher recs? Thanks! (reposted from general parenting - oops!)

Hi!
This is Michelle from musiKids. You are more than welcome to drop into one of our classes for a $25 fee. We are also having a free open house with demo classes at our Bethesda studio on Sunday Nov. 22 from 10-12 - right before registration opens for our winter session. You can also call me in the office any time for more information or to schedule a visit.

I hope you receive some feedback from familes who have taken our classes and that we see you soon!

My daughter and I have attended Musikids classes for over a year now (from when she was 5 months old) and we LOVE it (and will continue to attend as long as we can). It was recommended to me from a friend who took her children there, and we couldn't be happier. My daughter really enjoys the music, playing with all the other children, and gets very excited now when she even sees the building when we arrive for class. The Bethesda location (the main one) is super clean, bright, and cheerful (the classes that take place at Chevy Chase Baptist Church are fine too, but the main one is understandably way nicer). The teachers are all wonderful (I have only had Marni and Michelle, who are both fantastic, but I hear that everyone loves their teacher), and as far as I know, all have some serious background in music and singing. I was worried at first that I would be put off by 'baby' classes like this, but I enjoy them very much, and both moms and dads often come with their kids (during lunch breaks, etc) which I think shows how welcoming and engaging the classes are. Along with games and music-centered activities, children are subtly taught things like waiting for their turn, putting things away, and following instruction. Different classes do different things, but there is a LOT of movement to music involved, and the older classes have great toys and props to play with. I would HIGHLY recommend Musikids to everyone. And, I have met some very nice moms there (although dads come too, it is predominantly moms). Hope this helps!

My kids have loved Musikids -- especially Michelle!

The teachers have different personalities -- we started one round w/one instructor who was a little too high energy for my quiet girl, and Musikids was great about helping to find a switch that worked well for everyone.
