AFC count after lupron?

Anonymous
I am prepping for an ERA after my June FET didnt work. The broad strokes of my protocol is this: I had blood work done 8/3 to confirm ovulation and I have been taking lupron for the last 9 days. I went in today for baseline bloodwork and u/s. If all is well I am supposed to continue lupron and start estrace with hope of doing the ERA in a few weeks.

The u/s tech counted follicles at today's appt. I go to a clinic that is a teaching hospital so a resident was shadowing the tech. After she did the count herself the tech had the resident try and was instructing her on how to use the machine and to do an u/s. My understanding is that the whole purpose of the lupron was to shut down my ovaries so is it bad that there were follicles to count? I dont remember them counting folliciles at my baseline appt when i did the first FET a few months ago. Have things gone awry or was the u/s tech just using me to teach the resident? If so thats fine I am just confused and anxious as I sit here waiting for my nurse to call ...

The ovaries are quieted by the lupron but you may still have some (very small) follicles in there. I always had a few at baseline before FET.
