My daughter's middle school (Rocky Run) has posted the supply list. I'm assuming the supplies are NOT communal like in elementary school? So if they ask for 6 glue sticks, my daughter can put one in each of her binder pouches and just replenish from home when she needs more? Is that correct? Or is it communal and she needs to bring everything to school on the first day and dump it in a box for everyone to use? I'm asking because she wants particular (aka expensive) color pencils and pens, and I would be ok if she was the only one using them, but if it's communal, then I'll just buy normal crayola pencils and bic pens.
Not communal. And pretty sure my kids didn’t even bring anything to school outside of their binders and maybe some composition books. My second child is entering 8th and we ignored the list outside of new binders and a few notebooks and the TI-84. If she needs anything specific, I’ll order it, but found the list largely unused last year, as every class differs. Impossible to have one master list that applies to every kid.
MS teacher here (albeit from a different school). Most supplies are NOT communal; however, your daughter may be asked to share if she is okay with that. If someone brings in glue sticks or colored pencils for the classroom then I accept them GLADLY(!!!) but the biggies for me are things like hand sanitizer, Kleenex and Clorox wipes for the desks.
