Not standing next to that hot queen she doesn't. Also black dress, black shoes always unless same shade as your skin. She looks happy and is having a very good hair day.

I actually love the dress and she looks good here. The shoes are not ideal but not awful. One of her better looks. If I knew I had to be photographed next to Queen Rania you better believe I’d bring my A+ game. She’s still one incredibly beautiful woman.

I think Usha’s shoes were intended to be a splash of color type statement but didn’t really get there. They are a deep gold color. I think a deep purple suede or teal would have looked good here.

Are they gold? They just look tan leather to me.

That’s what I thought at first but zoom in - they look gold. The color of the floor is not helpful.

She is having a good hair day.

Agree black dress and nude-toned heels are usually the move but in winter I do agree this dress + black tights and boots would've been the move.

Whose nude/skin tone? Brown shoes?

Black shoe is always safe but I love a black dress with a burgundy shoe or deep purple swede in this weather. Not really nude or brown. There are so many other options with black + winter.

I hear you but that dress just begs for a boot especially in this weather. A deep purple suede boot would be sort of awesome but way too fashion edgy for Usha. A decent black boot would have been perfect and she would have looked totally fine. Doesn’t basically everyone have a pair of black boots to wear with dresses and skirts?

She always seems to have the look of someone who wasn’t told what she was doing until late the night before — so she goes to get dressed in th morning and then realizes her boots don’t fit or the zipper broke or whatever so she just grabs a different pair of shoes out of the closet because she doesn’t have time for a better solution. I get the overall sense that her staff is not good or she doesn’t work with them and as a result always looks a little thrown together. If she knew a few days in advance she had an event with the Queen, she’d pick a nice dress and make sure she had accessories that would work with it.

My guess is she and JD think they're too good to have to listen to staff. If they actually cared what the staff had to say and it was just a case of the staff being bad at their jobs, they would've been fired by now.

They're both kind of sloppy with their fashion choices. Look at JD wearing a stained tuxedo shirt to a black tie dinner.

Also in looking for a pic of that I found this tweet and lmao:

I can see her thinking she doesn’t need to listen to staff about fashion stuff but does she not get her calendar like a week in advance? As a lawyer you’d think she’d be used to reviewing her calendar for upcoming weeks and making sure she had clothes clean and ready to wear. I do that—review my calendar and think “okay, I’ll need one suit and two business wear jackets for the trip this week and printing to wear to dinner with clients” so I’ll make sure stuff is back from dry cleaner and I have shoes for each outfit and whatever. I’m no fashionista but this is just basic business sense. She often looks like she throws stuff on without advance planning. She gets away with a lot of it because she has a fabulous figure so most of it just works.
JD, like me, has put on lots of weight recently so he in particular needs to plan ahead to make sure he has something that will actually fit.

I question her life and life partner choices but she does have three kids. I think she looks like someone that has three kids and has a lot on her plate.

She does look like someone who has three kids and a lot on her plate but she also presumably has staff who should be helping her with this.

This is why you go simple with a lot of thinks that work with each other (as a lawyer mom with three kids I basically wear black pants every day.). She must have black shoes and probably even black boots. If you’re maxed out that’s fine. Just do something simple. No one would give her grief if she had 10 basic outfits on a rotation depending on the level of formality. It’s more the weird choices. Like wearing a perfectly fine black dress but then weird off-gold shoes which then creates questions about what to do for hose, tights, etc. she’s making her life more difficult with these choices.

I don't think that's from Melania? I think it's a church trying to ingratiate themselves in Trump world.

Do you really think she had no jacket? Seriously? She no doubt checked her coat prior to the photographs.

Genuine question, Melania/Usha/Whoever, do you think this looks good? A white sleveless jumpsuit over goosepimpled arms in 10 degree weather?

Not sure who you’re addressing here, but what “goosepimpled arms”? Her arms look fine and she obviously wore a coat to the function. It’s pretty funny how triggered you are by this outfit.

NP here and while no one is triggered that’s a really bad outfit. It’s not even the right length, for starters.

There is definitely a poster who continues to post about the white jumpsuit and how outraged she is over it.

No one has mentioned it for a few pages.

You're in a thread about fashion. People are going to talk about, well, fashion. If you think that equates to being "triggered," perhaps this isn't the thread for you.

What? Someone, possibly the same person, brings it up on every page. If you think a message board means not responding to people's messages, perhaps this isn't the thread for you.

It hasn't been mentioned in two or three pages. Also, the event happened Thursday and it's Saturday. So, yeah, people were going to be talking about it on Friday.

Those are hideous.

+1
Especially the first incredibly cheap looking suit and the last picture with the mini skirt and stripper boots. No doubt that poster fancies herself a real style maven!

I like the mini-skirt. Would obviously wear it a bit longer (I have short legs) with opaque tights, and with wayyyy more sensible black boots. You don't have to see a styled picture and think you have to style it the same way.

Agreed, the irony of someone saying "No doubt poster fancies herself a real style maven" when not even understanding how styling works is too funny.

I saw the Alice + Olivia in Bloomingdale's last week and it was cute. And I always wish I could do suits but I'm too petite.

Let's be real here. The person who posted these outfits did so by charmingly saying, "here are some options that are appropriate next time you have a winter event that necessitates pretending you have taste." And then proceeds to post some pretty tasteless options. She walked right into that. Not to mention, if anyone at this event had shown up in any of the above outfits, the regulars here would be tearing the apart for their "tastelessness." But sure, we can pretend miniskirts and cheap looking suits would have been appropriate.

Oh same and no doubt Melania does too. Reminds me of when Jackie Kennedy told Oleg Cassini she wanted something "fat women weren't going to copy in a year." I suspect Melania has a similar attitude lol.

Plus, I highly doubt she's wearing maternity clothes yet. Just a stretchy sweater dress.

Weird how you think wearing maternity clothes was meant to be a dig when that person was just sharing a dress that looked similar. (Not it, though, I agree)

Agree. The shoes were a weird choice regardless of the fact that there was snow and ice on the ground.
