| So it’s highly recommended but it’s $200! Am I stupid to buy it for my 21 month old for an upcoming trip? We might have another baby but might not. Cats peed on our pack and play so need a new one ASAP. |
| I have it and love it, it was one of our best gifts. It's lightweight and easy to set up, and way more convenient for travel than a PNP. My son is too tall for it as a crib now at 35 inches at 26 months...but he does like to use it as a little play tent/reading nook because he can crawl in and out of it. |
| Can you find a used one on Craigslist? We got our barely-used Baby Bjorn for less than half the price of a new one that way. I couldn't stomach spending $200+ on a travel crib either but it was worth half the price to me. |

It is totally worth spending $200 on, especially if most of your travel is by air. Mine is on kid 2 and barely shows it even though it’s been used a ton. It’s also helpful as a play pen because it’s so quick and easy to set up and take down, and light weight if carrying up/ down stairs. Have also taken it to people’s homes so baby could nap while grown ups could catch up - highly recommend it!
I’ve also used the Baby Bjorn one a fair bit and while that one has a nicer mattress, I’d still choose the Lotus as it folds up more compact and is carry-on compatible. |
| I'd go with a cheapy travel crib at this age and not definitely having another kid. We have it, it's fine? My kids seem to sleep just as well in a PNP though, which I think seem a bit more spacious once assembled. |

We used a pack n play, then a travel cot from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H1MRJO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's $25 right now. Kiddo loves it. Though it won't work for a baby. |
| Will you travel by air Adair amount? We got it for a trip, and and probably last kid but he was only 8mos. Presumably you’ll start using a toddler bed or something around 3-3.5? |
| We’ve used the Lotus travel crib since DD was 4 months old. It’s awesome and since the mattress is on the floor, there’s no weight limit so you can get more use out of it. |
| It’s great for being compact enough to carry on. We got one used for $75. |
| Its amazing and worth the price. It fits in the overhead on planes as a carry on. Sets up in seconds and easy to pack. My DS has slept great in it on any trip. We have a traditional pack and play set up at home in our living room and its heavy and bulky-- the lotus is amazing! |
| You are not supposed to used PnP for kids over 35". DD was 35.5" at 18 months. We are now getting an air bed\, for when we go and visit my parents. If you are not planning on having another child, I would not go for another "baby play yard," given that your DC is 21mo. |
| I have one that we don't use anymore - it's in perfect condition and you can have it. Don't know how to get in touch but if you can work it out, it's free (in NoVa). |
Are you able to email me at mikeca778@gmail.com? I’d like to pick it up! Thank you! |
| Hey OP here someone is trying to swoop in above and get it from you. You’re a jerk, dude. I have one coming on amazon by Friday after hearing the good reviews, but thanks anyways. You should get money for yours or give to someone who needs it, not an opportunist. Thanks! |

My Bjorn travel crib was/is one of the best and most useful baby items I have ever purchased. I got it at a consignment store for $120 and if I knew then what I know now I would have HAPPILY bought it full price (though I don't regret scoring the deal of course!).
I have heard similarly good things about the lotus. If you travel a lot a good travel crib is worth its weight in gold. |
