My 2yr old was offered a spot for a Preschool program at a Private school. The costs
are cheaper than daycare, but I’m a little anxious about my baby at a “big kid’s” school. I don’t have any issues with her current daycare other than she is still in the 18mth-23mth room until who knows when (they currently do not have room in their 2yr old room). I would love to hear from parents who transitioned their little ones to a Private School at 2 and their experiences (pros/cons versus daycare). |
| One of my biggest problems with it was the preschool followed a traditional school calendar. If you have lots of flexibility for watching her during the summer or parent/teacher work days then it could work well. We didn't have that flexibility since camps don't traditionally take kids that young. We needed year round care so we stuck with daycare that had an integrated preschool curriculum. |

We went from an excellent daycare (with integrated preschool) to an outstanding preschool at age 2. Huge difference.
We did have the camp issue for summer. S our DC is back at the same daycare during the summer; you might still be able to get whole-year care. We were told that many daycare families want to take some weeks off during the summer, and so having a kid there during the summer can be fine from a ratio perspective. |
what were all the glorious differences between your excellent daycare and your outstanding preschool?
