VA clubs for upper elementary/MS girls

DD plays multiple sports and has played for local rec club since she was 5. We’d like to find a club to strengthen her skills, ideally one that will be reasonably flexible for other sports and a commute less than 1/2 hour for weekday practices. (Live inside the beltway.)

Looking at Pride, maybe new Madlax. Stars has a great reputation but have had tryout conflicts and commute not ideal.

Cardinals website seemed to indicate preference for dedicated lacrosse players plus commute not ideal. Just checked out VA Metro’s website but can’t figure out where there home base is - can anyone shed light?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pride is by far your best bet. My DD played for Stars and its a bigger commitment. Pride is an excellent program and great coaches and is just a little less intense.

VA Metro's home base is Vienna. They practice at Flint Hill and behind Oak Marr Rec Center. We're not a Metro family but have friends there that are happy.

Pride for sure, they support the multi sport athletes.

Not sure what you mean by your DD playing multi-sports. If you mean playing more than one sport during a particular season, especially for another club program, that will likely be an issue with any lax club. If you mean multiple sports in different seasons, that shouldn't be an issue with any of the lax clubs. My DD plays for Stars but also plays on field hockey and basketball teams and has no problems meeting her obligations for all three. She also plays lax for her rec team and that has occasionally caused problems but Stars comes first when there is a conflict.

Go with Pride.
Pride really supports the multi-sport athlete. We have been so pleased with that factor.
And it makes no sense that other club teams don’t, because any decent coach agrees that there are so many benefits to playing more than one sport and not focusing at such a young age. These girls are in middle school!! They should absolutely not be limited to one sport.

Don’t have her play travel. Keep playing as many sports as she can and continue rec. lacrosse.

By multisport, at least in our family's case, I am referring to multiple sports year round. There are some athletes for whom rec just really does not meet their needs. Even year-round clubs have lots of downtime and offseasons, making it possible to do more than one with few conflicts.
