Think DS 6 has ADHD, next steps, recommendations for who to see?

Anonymous
DS is 6 and can be a holy terror and is often hyper and inattentive. He had a K teacher who was really great with active kids and he apparently didn't have behavior issues at school, although he sometimes didn't finish his work. He is average and on target for what he was supposed to learn, but I suspect his attention issues may be preventing him from reaching his potential.

Is it ok to start behavioral parent training before a diagnosis? We need some help without waiting for the school year to get underway enough for his new teacher to fill out a questionnaire to help determine if he had ADHD. Any recommendations for close in MoCo? Thanks!

Yes, start behavioral parent training now. Doesn't matter what your diagnosis is, the techniques are the same.
