this is a bizarre question but is anyone concerned about the tv antennas so close to nps? do these cause brain cancer?

I have always wondered the same thing about the whole Tenleytown area.

I live in Tenley and actually have a friend who works next-door to that TV Station at Dept of Homeland Security on Nebraska Ave. I remember when she was pregnant she actually looked into that issue and was told that those signals/dishes are routinely monitored by the FCC/EPA and the RF outputs are well lower than the gov't safety requirements. We had always wondered the same thing b/c there are so many antennas in the Tenley area. One less thing to worry about, I guess. -)

Applied to NPS, and just discovered this thread. I was worried myself. Has the school ever said anything about this?

from the American Cancer Society -

This focuses on cell phone towers, but there is discussion re: radio waves in general. In particular: "No human studies have focused specifically on cellular phone towers or even on radio waves more generally. Several studies have looked at the effects of radio waves and microwaves combined; these have generally not shown any increase in cancer, except for a US Air Force study that suggested an increase in brain tumors in association with radiofrequency/microwave exposure."
