we see a lot of deer on our backyard. DW wants to feed them with deer corn and such. any reason we shouldn't?
If you wants ticks in your yard keep the deer coming.
Deer are wild animals, they know how to forage for food and need no help. You feed them and they will turn into a nuisance. Plus you'll probably piss off your neighbors. |
Are you crazy???
Lyme disease is a good reason.
#1 lymes. What area is this?
Your neighbors will hate you. Deer are destructive and awful.
Op here. Thanks guys. Message received. We are in moco btw.
Put out a salt lick in the winter too. I always feed deer and they love the salt.
Deer are wild animals. If you feed them, they will have no fear of humans and start “begging” for food.
I don't feed them in person. They live in my yard anyway, in the section that grows wild next to county property. |
Hasn’t the PP heard of lymes?
Of course, I live in the northeast. It doesn't mean I'm going to hate deer. |
Well, if it's winter and there's a lot of snow on the ground, I wouldn't fault you for putting some hay out for them. If you feed them only during emergencies then they won't become accustomed.
There's a nut on our street that puts out corn and sunflower seeds for the deer. That doesn't stop the deer from destroying everything in the other yards. Don't be that person.
