Infertility Support and Discussion
| I am a very impatient person and as you all know those dreaded two weeks can be very stressful. Over analyzing ever symptom your body lets out. Any tricks on how to make 14 days pass quickly? |
|
no tricks but right in there with you.

| If you can do it, I would suggest not taking home tests. I did them during my first IVF cycle (which resulted in a BFN) and I really wish I had waited and just done one test on the morning of my beta. In the end, I think the testing made it much worse. Good luck!! |
| I"m right there with you too. Hope it's good news for all of us! |
|
This is what worked for my wife and me -- we just assumed that the IVF worked (even though this was our second cycle). Granted, it was sort of a "be the ball" "visualize the ball going into the basket" sort of thing but it helped. We did not talk about what would happen if the IVF did not work, the possibility of changing doctors or pursuing or alternative methods for starting a family.
In short, we tried to avoid the ups and downs that come with analyzing each symptom as being a good or bad sign by always choosing to believe they were positive signs. Good luck. |

I just got the results of my 2ww and I can sympathize with you, it's torture, but each step in this journey is tough. I got good results but initial beta was low so we did allow ourselves to get too excited. The betas are rising well now, but we still have to wait for the first sono to know for sure, but I guess even that will be only one more hurdle passed.
GL to all those in 2ww |
| I second the idea of NOT having tests in your home. You will test too early and you will go mad. |
|
Interesting... what worked for me was assuming that the cycle did not work. I just got tired of being disappointed. And when it did finally work I was pleasantly suprised.
I don't think its a bad idea to have a few HPTs. Just don't start testing too early, and try not to obsess on how dark the line is. |
|
funny thing . . . a little doggie followed me home just before my 2ww. I already have two dogs and now I have three. I was so obsessed with finding its owner, that I didn't have time to think about the 2ww. Not that I am suggesting you try to find a dog but can you volunteer somewhere for a few days?
I am a firm believer in NOT buying pee sticks before 12dpo. They are evil, pure evil! |
|
I took a test on the 5th, convinced. No.
I took a test in the 17th. Two lines, loud and clear. Pregnant (and freaking out a little) I would have better off not trying the 5th....too early will make you nuts! |
| Lots and lots of heavy drinking. (Joking.) If only it were that easy! Um, buy several super trashy pulp fiction page-turner kind of novels? Keep all sticks upon which you can pee AWAY from your home? |
Wishing you a healthy happy wonderful pregnancy. |
| Reading and writing on DCUM forums. You guys are awesome. Count me as another person in waiting. |
| I'm waiting too - won't know until the 23rd at the earliest. Trying not to go completely insane. |
| OP here and I am trying not to test until the 30th. So almost 9 more days. My husband is sick of hearing my lunacy so the boards are all I have left! |
