| Our club’s (girls) try out fees increased from $50 to $125 this year. We have kids in other highly competitive travel sports (through HS) and try our fees have remained flat and are minimal ($25 or less) - if any fee. I’ve read on this board some really high fees. This maybe an obvious question, but is this a new trend for boys and girls lacrosse? It’s not like we can’t afford it; just seems like a blatant money grab and a contrast to other travel sports. |
| Apparently just a DC thing, Baltimore club fees have not been doubled. |
| What if all the parents got together and just said “Nope, not gonna be strong-armed into this nonsense.” |
| Boys are consistently 50 and less. Except DC Express which charges 300 (for real) |
tells you all you need to know. They already know who the want on the team so it is a complete money grab. |
What are you talking about BLC is 65 bucks. It’s not 300 but still more than it needs to be. |
| Bethesda may be, but he was talking about DCE. They charge 100 for a tryout which is 2x most clubs. Then they have a 200 pretryout camp which is implied you have to attend to make their teams. |
| I dont pay them. I write on the form that we won't be paying them and send my kid anyway. They have always made the team and never once asked me to pay. |
I’m sorry I just don’t believe this. Plus it’s all electronic - you don’t write anything on a form. |
