What’s a cool brand I’ve never heard of?

I’m 40 and a mom. I have been using Rent the Runway Unlimited or Le Tote to round out my closet while I work on weightloss. Until recently I have been nursing or pregnant for 5 years. I want to start getting inspired to continue my weightloss and build an awesome wardrobe again.

I don’t need high end stuff, but I don’t wear anything cheap like Old Navy or H&M. I’ll be a size 10 when I start shopping again. Before kids I liked Anthropologie and cute boutiques in my Chicago neighborhood. As a mom, I’m in a rut of Boden, Eileen Fisher, Lands End, and J Crew Factory.

What websites should I check out? The mall stores are boring me.

For a modern look check Garmetory, it's a website that pulls everything from over 300+ independent boutiques in the country.

Do you need professional clothes, or just casual stuff for hanging out with kids? We need to know your needs.

Mostly casual or business casual. I work from home, but at like to look current and stylish for kid stuff like play dates and lessons.

Try MM LaFleur for business casual. They will send you a Bento Box of clothes. You keep what you like and return what you don't like. Shipping is free. Their clothes are not frumpy and fit in the right places. I get an order every few months. I don't always keep everything but generally really like 1-2 things. I love their dresses.

Just checked out Garmentory

OMG - I have not seen more hideous clothing. Not one thing was normal looking or wearable.

Well if you want to look "normal" then it's not for you. We are weird and proud of it)

NP and curious what pieces you’ve bought from these designers. I’m familiar with Rachel comey shoes and clare v bags.
