Thoughts on Monica Goldson

Does anyone have thoughts on the newly appointed interim CEO of PGCPS? I met with Dr Goldson a few years ago and had a positive experience and she worked out my issue pretty quickly. I'm wondering if Baker or his replacement will consider her for the permanent position or if they are set on headhunting someone from outside PGCPS. I can see both sides. Having someone with nearly 30 years of experience gives a lot of institutional knowledge to the position. She probably knows where there is waste and what things need to be improved. But I can see bringing someone in to give the appearance of steering the ship in a different direction.

So far I am impressed with her focus and direction. She is very clear about her objective and the direction in which she would like the county to go in. I agree I do believe we should have someone with loyalty to the district and knowledge of the system. If she going to hold the position for a year they should give her a shot versus bringing someone else in change what she has changed.

It is time to change the narrative in PGCPS, I am hopeful she can!

Remember, you have assess a person ‘s success at the previous position in order to determine if they are the right fix. If the schools system did not make substantial improvement under Dr. Maxwell, what do you expect from someone within his administration. Unfortunately, Executive Baker itrack record in picking a school leader has been less than inspiring and the School Board is nothing but a rubber stamp. Now is the time to drain the proverbial swamp. Again, look at the track record and then draw your own conclusions.
