Do we have ANY half-day school in Washington DC area?

| I am really unhappy with 8:45 am till 3:15 school schedule. I believe my kids would do better, and have more life after school when they are done by 1 pm. |

I feel your pain, but not that I know of.  Not after K anyway.

| yeah, I think after pre-k, you lose the half day option. What about homeschooling, even though it's not my cup of tea. |

It is unrelated. Kids don't need to study ALL DAY LONG, just because we are working. They could play or have other activities during the second half of the day. That's how it used to be. It was more normal/healthy. |

Just curious where and when kids had half-day schools. I've never heard of them beyond kindergarten. |

Large chucks of the country had MANDATED half day K (my friend outside Chicago complains about it everyday) and my cousin has a choice about sending her son full or half! Would be a nice choice for some families....but not so for this area! |
