Need Adam's Morgan area pediatrician

Hi, great forum! I'm 7 months pg. We have good insurance but cannot find referrals to a decent local pediatrician. My husband does not drive my car (it's a stick) and I'll be going back to work full-time after maternity leave, so really need a pediatrician he can reach walking or by bus. I've read such mixed reviews about downtown pediatricians that I would really appreciate a referral. Thanks in advance for any help!

It's not Adams Morgan, but try the pediatricians at Washington Hospital Center. You'd have to walk over to Mt. Pleasant and grab the H2/H4 buses that go up Columbia Rd (and come back on Irving).

We use Marjorie Butler McKnight, and have liked her so far (baby is 6 weeks). Her office only has one waiting room (no separate space for sick kids) but they schedule well baby visits in the morning before sick kids come in, and in three visits, I only had to wait once before getting into an exam room.

Also, as someone without a car, you can probably justify the expense of an occasional taxi for pediatrician visits if you find a doc you really like in another neighborhood.
